An exhibition by the CVS celebrating Broxbourne’s community and voluntary sector

There are many stories to be told in Broxbourne around the history of the community and charity sector. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the aim of this project is to research this history and produce an exhibition to celebrate the lives and contributions made to the community by ordinary people. This aspect of local history has never been researched and documented, and we consider it timely to do this now, as many of the older residents who have had a major impact in the community are getting older. We wish to record this aspect of the social history of the area, to share our findings with current residents and ensure this is recorded for future generations.

Re-opening 2022

After a Christmas and New Year break, Lowewood Museum re-opened on Friday 7th January 2022 and intends to remain open from 10am to 4:30pm every Friday and Saturday going forward.

We are currently recruiting new staff and volunteers and hope to be able to expand our opening hours in future months.

Our next exhibition will be Voices of the Voluntary Sector, a project developed by the CVS for Broxbourne and East Herts recording the history and achievements of the community and voluntary sector in Broxbourne over the past 50 years. The exhibition is scheduled to open on Friday 25th February 2022.

Further details of exhibitions and events will be confirmed in the next week.

We look forward to seeing you at Lowewood Museum in 2022
